Clinton: No Interest in White House. (Pope: Not Catholic)

Hillary ClintonBack when Bill Clinton was in office, it always seemed to me whenever a photo op included Bill’s lovely wife that there was a lean and hungry look on her face. Had there been a thought bubble above her head as she ogled hubby in his role as leader of the free world, it would have read something like “Hey, that looks good! I’d like an order of that myself.”

So it was hardly a surprise to anyone when she announced her plan to run for the U.S. Senate and less surprising still when she abandoned her Senate seat for a run at the 2008 Democratic Presidential nomination.

Well, as everyone knows by now, that didn’t pan out, though she was awarded a consolation prize–the post of Secretary of State–by the man who defeated her.

But there’s always next (election) year, right? Well, not if you believe her response on Meet the Press last week. When asked by host David Gregory if she might be up for another bid for the White House in 2016, she said, “Well, you know, I say no, never, you know, not at all. I don’t know what, what else to say.” Gregory, who apparently is not fluent in Blather, pressed for an answer in his native English. This time she replied, “I have absolutely no belief in my mind that that is going to happen, that I have any interest in it happening.”

Clinton will be a less attractive 69 in 2016. Will that be a factor in her decision? Will she throw caution to the wind and throw her hat in the ring anyway? Since there doubtless are whole new rooms of furniture for her to pilfer since vacating the White House the first time, I wouldn’t rule the possibility out.

Aren’t they self-explanatory? If you tick the first box when you post, you will “subscribe” to the thread – get e-mails alerting you to and showing you any replies on the thread. If you’d like to keep up with the discussion but don’t care to post, you can use the second option below. If, after subscribing you change your mind, you can use a link that appears below the comment box to manage your subscriptions – to the particular thread and to any other threads – giving you the option to remove any or all of them.
