According to The Other McCain, a CNN stringer is reporting that Todd and Sarah Palin are divorcing. THis has been vehemently denied by Mrs. Palin
“Divorce Todd? Have you seen Todd? I may be just a renegade hockey mom, but I’m not blind!”
It seems this started on some nutroot blog, and the CNN stringer picked it up. Of course, Politico blames Palin for the dissemination. Oy.

Oh puh-leeez. I just think there’s this incredible confusion about what journalistic standards are and if the blogosphere needs to have ‘em if the actual journalists don’t. I mean, when the crack investigative journalism is being done by The Enquirer and TMZ, who knows?

There is a serious subtext to this (probably) crazy story which is itself an example of the sort of stresses inherent in national celebrity. How many normal marriages could survive 24/7 hostile media attention?
