Who is Michele Bachmann and Why Are Liberals Saying These Terrible Things About Her?

new-2 “After having just returned from a trip to Minnesota, I shake my head that such a beautiful place would be represented by such an ugly individual as Bachmann.” — Commenter, Daily Kos

“She is a bizarre news story of the month every month.” — Brian Melendez, chairman, Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party

“Michele Bachmann is just nuts. She is just an utter embarrassment. — Jeremy Powers, local DFL chair in Bachmann’s district.

Do you recognize the perky face in the photograph above? If not, meet the next (or another) Sarah Palin. Meet Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, who has become public enemy no. 1 for many in the Democrat Party.

According to Alex Isenstadt writing at Politico, Bachmann is “outspoken, conservative, and media-friendly” — the same triple-threat constellation of traits that continues to dog Democrats with respect to Sarah Palin.

There are other similarities between the two. Like Palin, Bachmann is physically attractive, “speaks with an upper-Midwestern accent, is the mother of a large family and touts a stridently socially conservative agenda that Democrats regard as outright right wing.”

Palin, who herself has been making headlines this past week with her well-aimed assault on Obamacare continues to scare the snot out of Democrats, who had thought (hoped?) her resignation as Alaska governor would be her swan song. Imagine their sheer horror now at the prospect of a Palin-Bachmann ticket in 2012 running against a combat-wearied, weakened Obama!

As usual, I have no clue what your “witty” rejoinder means. Not caring terribly much, either.

Beyond the interesting attempt to blame Democrats for disease, (The Party of Disease?) she was also factually off-base.
Swine flu didn’t break out under Carter.

And Michele doesn’t have to answer the Census questions because the Constitution says she doesn’t have to say anything except maybe how many people live in the house.
Nope. She’s not nuts, not a flaming idiot at all.

She’s just a member of Congress too bizarro to know that Congress passes laws that people are expected to obey. even if they live in the Bachmann house.

She’s not nuts, she’s not, she’s not, just dumber than snot.

I assume that’s a reaction to the construction “Democrat Party.” If so, kindly note that I prefer the latter because I believe that party has abandoned its democratic principles.
