OT: Actually, Ms D, your comment (and her response) went into “pending” while she was apparently trying to figure out what happened, since she had originally intended for it to be a closed thread. Things got out of control from there. By the time anyone (me) got back to the “pending” comments, the thread had been closed.
@ms. docweasel – There are about a million tributes to 9/11. If you like another better, you could have put it in your comment. Enya wasn’t the point, your particular taste isn’t the point. My post was one of thousands that paid tribute to 9/11. Did you police all according to your taste, or do have a particular fascination for this blog?

I must point out my disgust at the nonsense that has overtaken the comment threads at all of the 9/11 posts. It just makes the point I tried, poorly, to make in “Never Forget”: we are forgetting and it’s become one more cudgel to bludgeon one another with, or to use as a gateway to a comedy routine. I wish I had turned off comments to my posts.

I may have some other unpleasant things to say on this subject later, but look again at the photo I posted up there, and consider the magnitude of suffering that those gentlemen had to put aside in order to enjoy the “Hitler killed” headline – and to live on afterward.

@Bruce, NV – I don’t think that you need worry that people who were in NYC , served that day, and lost friends that day will forget that day.
