I have to say, this made me smile. I was unaware of Mr. Polanski’s record until I became an adult, but I had known about him even as a kid because of the Manson murders. Chinatown was one of my favorite movies but I’ve been on a Polanski boycott for 20 years.** If he gets extradited, I’ll celebrate by renting Chinatown and sending a donation to our local children’s hospital.
** Until BO did the Ayers dance about “only being 8 years old” when this guy blew up buildings and killed people, I thought that decent people would naturally refuse to enrich/ aggrandize/ support or otherwise associate with people who were unrepentant about the atrocious crimes they had committed. Checking…. yup, I still think that.
