An astute observation and the implication is probably accurate; but it’s still rough and tumble politics. Good for Hatch. Coincidentally he’s been pretty squishy lately palling around with his liberal buddies; that statement will play well to his base in Utah.

Orrington Hatch is one of the emptiest suits in the Senate, a marvelous example of what is so wrong with that body, full of pretentious nobodies.
