After my jog around the blogosphere today, I am sorry to say that we ARE forgetting. The Clown in Chief decided that today is a day of service, and to that end, painted a living room. Pardon my French, but BFD. 2996 people died that day, for no reason except that they were the targets of hatred; hatred for the freedom of the West.

Commenters on this blog have said that our response was a waste. The chuckleheads in Homeland Security thought so little of 9/11 that they thought the Potomac would be a wonderful place for a little security drill. On CNBC and FBN, 9/11 is remembered by a few little reports here and there; 9/15/08 is much more interesting to them. Afghanistan, the “Good War” when it could be used as a cudgel with which to smack George Bush, is now just another expense to be written off so that illegal aliens can have knee replacements and IVF treatments.

Dozens of babies were born to one-parent families because of those heathens. Thousands died; thousands died; thousands died. Why? Because misguided followers of the so-called religion of peace decided it should be so. And our 9/12 sense of purpose, sense of unity has been shattered all too soon.

My father’s generation has been called “The Greatest Generation”. They certainly were greater than our current generation, who cannot wait to turn tail and run, letting those 3000 deaths be in vain. Pelosi, Feingold, Reid, Kerry and the rest are too wrapped up in their drive to the Eurofication of America. There is a way of life at stake, and we are like the lobster in the pot of cold water. The lobster doesn’t realize it’s being cooked as the water slowly heats; we don’t realize that we are surrendering our freedom incrementally. Yale censors the Danish MoToons from a book about said cartoons; Minnesota cabbies don’t have to carry people transporting pork or alcohol; the Commander in Chief bows to tyrannical Heads of State and kowtows the little Members Only-wearing theocrat in Tehran.

I’ll never forget. Didn’t find out for nearly a week that my Pentagon based cousin survived. Did find out that the guys at Cantor Fitzgerald, whom I talked to nearly every day, didn’t survive. It’s obvious that too few of us exist who honor that day, even a mere 8 years after that heinous act.
