Telomeres

Telomeres of defined length,
Were by his God in mankind bent,
To make it sure that aged ones,
Would pass to make room for their sons,
Before they learn to mount the hill,
They yearn to climb, their God to kill.
New daughters too then see their day,
As the used up old fair pass away,
And the brighter young can in their [...]

Riff On MacLeod’s Quote

“People are 97% water and no damn good.”
They’d do what they oughta,
If they god dammned could,
But they can’t, so they don’t,
And they ain’t gonna change.
It’s a hundred percent fact,
That the truly pure,
Are more or less demure,
And don’t make a show,
Of a holy man act.
Those precious few don’t affect the case,
For the utterly pure never win the race,
Which [...]

State of the Uniter

Out of Illinois there burst a man,
Beloved of saying “Yes we can!”
As moonstruck crowds took up the cry,
Mrs.Clinton went by the by,
And McCain was soon an also ran.
In Washington he set out to do,
Such as is done by Daley’s crew.
There was ecstasy for nigh a year,
His soothing voice allaying the fear,
Reaction to his spending was [...]

Zombie Solstice Suite – by Sully (edited by the Web Czar)

(suggested musical accompaniment)

[prologue and invocation]
Rise, rise, cold Solstice Sun
There’s scarcely time in day for fun,
And tooth of wind is frightful keen,
As heatless Sun is briefly seen.
Now HopeyChangeys roam the land,
Devouring brains at every hand,
While Demons hatch an evil plan,
To smother granny when they can,
By barring meds when she gets frail,
And her general health begins to [...]

Anti-Lincoln

Through the dim pageant of the years
A wondrous tracery appears:
A modest home in Hawaii mild
Shelters in sleep a new-born child.
No nurse, nor parent dear can know
The way those infant feet must go;
And yet momentous change and hope
Are sealed within that horoscope.
But woe his thought is to grievance led,
And radical tutelage turns his head
To arrogance, arming [...]

To Babs With Love

Zombies, zombies who need people
They’re the hungriest zombies in the world
Given one person, one ordinary person
A need deep in their soul
Says he’s now half and not whole
No more hunger and thirst
‘Til next there is hunger for people
Zombies who’ve had people
Are the happiest zombies in the world

Counter Earthling Poetic Presentation

One thin September soon
A floating continent disappears
In midnight sun
Vapors rise as
Fever settles on an acid sea
Snow glides from the mountain
Ice fathers floods for a season
A hard rain comes quickly
Then dirt is parched
Kindling is placed in the forest
For the lightning’s celebration
The shepherd cries
The hour of choosing has arrived
Here are your tools
Fly, fly, my loyal pets
Settled science [...]

Tiger and the woods

Tiger, Tiger fast in flight,
From a three wood in the night,
Wielded by his angry wife,
She thought down under he did play,
More than golf the other day.
Tiger, Tiger, fleeing wife
Stomped the gas for very life,
Crashed a hydrant on the lawn,
Lots of questions in the dawn,
A roaming Wood can lead to strife.

Zombie Burt Parks Wept

There he is, Mister President
There he is, your schlemiel,
The dream of a million boys,
And four-fifths of non-goys,
And girls, and minorities,
And the differently abled,
With hard solemn duties,
To get hope change enabled.
There he is!
Filled with hot air, he is!
Diversest of them all, he is!
Reading off his spiel, he is!
Mister President!!!

Ode to NASA’s LCROSS Mission

At Cabeus did NASA geeks,
A swifty Centaur rocket hurl,
Where dust, and mayhap water reeks,
‘Pon craters numberless, and peaks,
Under the cosmic whirl.
Sent a metric ton of massy metal,
To feel out lunar soil’s fettle.
And cunning careful cameras set,
To record impact on lunar rill,
Ensure the wants of public met,
Make time long record of the thrill,
Assure balmy days for [...]

Cracked Poetic History for Dog Lovers

In Xanadu did Kublai Khan
A stately pleasure dome decree
Where Ralph his bad Samoyed ran
O’er lawns laid out to impress the Han
And made quite free to pee.
So twice five kennel guards were bound
And whipped the circuit well and sound
Of yellow spots on lawn around
That set the Khan’s foul temper free.
Worse yet just then a Japanner laughed
And [...]

?He said Amabo !EccE! Obamadias eH?

I met a traveler, late of Nobelland,
A meme park, cloying as Candyland,
Who said, “A vast, nay global, king is crowned,
Hawaii spawned, of earth split diverse strand,
Pre timely marriage, by two not long for him around.
Oft’ stoned, he education gained, and phlegm,
Plus caustic wife, and rep for writing great renowned.
From him pure peace will sure from passion stem,
To [...]

Our poet laureate’s latest effort

Samuel Taylor Sully on the moon bombing, now in off-the-wall format:
At Cabeus did NASA geeks,
A swifty Centaur rocket hurl,
Where dust, and mayhap water reeks,
‘Pon craters numberless, and peaks,
Under the cosmic whirl.
So twice two tons of massy metal,
To test the lunar soil’s mettle.
And also careful cameras set,
To record impact on lunar rill,
Ensure the wants of public [...]
